The project featured collaborations with rappers Curren$y, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, among others. “Purple Summer” was self-financed by the artist himself. The album was well received by music critics and received “Best New Music” accolades from music publication sites including Pitchfork, Spin, Complex. and Stereogum. It also garnered comparisons to Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, and Lil Yachty.
