My Dearest Darling Child: A Letter of Love and Support

As a mother, I am writing this letter to remind my child of their worth and potential. Despite any struggles, my child’s accomplishments have brought immense joy to my life. With their sensitivity, kindness and compassion for the vulnerable, my child shines brightly, and I believe they will continue to enrich the lives of those they meet.

Appreciate the Simple Things

Through my child, I have learned to appreciate the small things in life. Their ability to see the beauty in the everyday has taught me to slow down and enjoy life in its splendor. Though my child speaks their truth and sometimes bumps heads with the world, their unique awareness brings an irreplaceable contribution to society. My child has a beautiful balance of imagination, dreamer, creativity, inventor, and explorer. I believe this unique balance inside them will pave the way for a beautiful future.

Imagination is Your Greatest Gift

My beautiful child, never let anyone dull your imagination. Though others may make fun of it or not take you seriously, trust that your mind is a place of miracles and magic. Though I know your mind can be burdened at times, I also know that you are more perceptible to the world’s issues. While the problems of the world may be daunting, seek out all the good in it. Always see the light, and the light will always find you.

I Will Always Be Here for You

As your mother, I want you to know that I will always support and love you. As you grow and evolve into your unique self, never forget that you are enough as you are. As you spread your light to the world, keep in mind Marianne Williamson’s words, “As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.” You are my beacon of light and hope, and I have no doubt you will illuminate the whole world.
